Changes: This is a major upgrade! SDC has been re-engineered to run as two separate programs working together – a GUI and a dedicated lighting engine – instead of one. The engine now owns all DMX output and runs independently of the user interface. This rewrite makes SDC more stable and responsive, and lays the groundwork for future remote and multi-screen features.
Nothing changes in how you open and run SDC – you start the app exactly as before, and everything happens behind the scenes automatically.
On top of the new architecture, this release includes a large number of fixes and improvements across color faders, dimmer and chase effects, the timeline and scene faders, the pixel strip, and remote configuration.
Compatibility with 6.5: Your existing configurations and show files will open in 7.0. However, because of the size of this upgrade, we strongly recommend starting fresh: please uninstall your current 6.5 version first, then install 7.0 and build your show again from scratch for the most reliable results.

Changes: This update is officially classified as a minor release; however, it introduces several substantial enhancements that could warrant a major version designation. The Position GUI has been completely redesigned to improve compatibility across a wide range of screen sizes. Fanning has been added to the Position module, allowing even distribution of pan and tilt values across multiple fixtures. The Position module also includes several new options and refinements. The Colormix feature has been expanded with additional color options, and numerous optimizations have been implemented to improve the overall performance and stability of the graphical user interface.
Starting with this version, the application will be installed in a new default location on the PC, removing the need for administrative privileges during installation or updates.
Compatibility with 3.0: Yes. Users can upgrade directly from a previous version, but to take full advantage of all optimizations, new options, and improvements, it is recommended to uninstall any earlier versions and perform a fresh installation.
